Le Becquet is a small cove just east of the Cherbourg harbour breakwater, between Collignon and the open Cotentin north coast. It is the wave-side extension of the Collignon spot: while Collignon's inner breakwater provides flat water, Le Becquet faces north and catches Atlantic swell, offering nice wave rides when the wind comes from W to NW, particularly on a falling tide.
More exposed than Collignon: swells and currents are stronger. Works from W to NE. NE is very powerful here but caution — nearly on-shore. Progressive wind shadow from the Cherbourg breakwater on the west side. Complements Collignon: when inside the harbour is too sheltered or crowded, Le Becquet provides another option with waves.

NE wind is almost on-shore at this location — watch out for rocks in the surf zone by NE, especially starting from the Collignon parking on the Becquet side. Progressive wind shadow with W wind as you move away from the Cherbourg breakwater — risk of wind loss and stranding. Tidal currents can be strong at large coefficients.
W to NW: nice waves on a falling tide towards Le Becquet, side-onshore. NE: powerful, nearly on-shore — waves but close attention to rocks needed. W wind: beware progressive wind shadow from the Cherbourg breakwater as you move west — stay in the active wind zone. S to SE: offshore — forbidden.
