Ahipara is a kitesurfing spot located at the southern end of Ninety Mile Beach, in the Far North of Northland. This village marks the beginning (or end) of the famous 90-mile beach and offers easy access to a spectacular body of water on the Tasman Sea coast. The prevailing winds come from the west to north-west (onshore from the Tasman Sea). South-west winds are side-shore. The sandy beach is immense and flat, allowing landkiting at low tide.
