Shallow Inlet is an exceptional kitesurfing spot located near Sandy Point, in South Gippsland, Victoria. This shallow inlet offers a flat and safe body of water, ideal for beginners and intermediate riders. At low tide, vast sandbanks emerge, creating a natural lagoon perfect for learning kitesurfing. The spot benefits from regular south-west thermal winds that pick up in the early afternoon during summer. The shallow water (often waist-deep) and absence of waves make it a safe playground. At high tide, the water expands and offers more space to sail. It is one of the best learning spots in Victoria. Access is through the Shallow Inlet Marine and Coastal Park. Parking is free and spacious. The spot is also an important habitat for migratory birds, and some areas may be restricted during nesting season.
