Bayswater Sand Spit is a sandbank located in the Waitemata Harbour, on Auckland's North Shore. This unique spot offers shallow water on both sides of the sandbank, allowing sailing in very calm conditions. NE and SW winds work well. The spot is ideal for beginners thanks to the shallow water and flat conditions. Watch out for tides that cover the sandbank at high tide. Close to the Bayswater ferry connecting the North Shore to Auckland city centre.
