Clifford Bay is a kitesurf spot located in the Marlborough region, at the northern tip of the South Island of New Zealand. The bay is on the south side of Cook Strait, offering exposure to the powerful winds that cross the strait. The dominant winds are from the north to northwest, channeled by Cook Strait, and can be very strong. South winds also work well. The bay is exposed to strait swell and tidal currents. The bottom is sandy with pebbles. Spot for advanced riders due to strong winds and strait currents.
