Kairaki Beach is a kitesurf spot located at the mouth of the Waimakariri River, north of Christchurch in Canterbury. This sandy beach offers direct access to Pegasus Bay with a vast sailing area. The Nor'wester (NE) is the main wind, blowing cross-onshore on this east-facing beach. South winds are side-shore. Watch out for currents at the river mouth, which can be powerful during tides. The water area is exposed to waves. Spot for intermediate to advanced riders.
