Overview

Étang du Grazel — Small lagoon at La Franqui village. Separated from the sea by a sand bank. Shallow, not very big, but allows safe navigation without risk of drifting offshore. Good for beginners improving upwind riding before open sea. By Marin (SE): nice waves on the sea side. Beginner.

Wind specificities

All wind directions work. Tramontane NW arrives attenuated (dunes protect). Marin SE/E flat and manageable. Thermal summer possible. Weaker than the open spots — good for light wind foiling.

Hazards

Very shallow — 30-80cm, foot touch bottom everywhere. Muddy bottom — can trap fins and feet. Gusty Tramontane near edges. Small lagoon — limited space. Protected natural area — respect fauna.
