Sunset Point sits on Lake Nipissing, a large lake (65 km long) near the city of North Bay. Lake Nipissing is Ontario's fifth-largest lake, offering significant fetch in all directions. Sunset Point faces west on the lake's northern portion.
North Bay municipal park with parking and facilities. Easy launch. The lake is large and open, offering good riding conditions in most wind directions. Season: June to September.

Large shallow lake (average depth 4.5 m). Freshwater, moderate chop but can build quickly. Sandy to muddy bottom. Water 18-22°C in summer. The lake's shallow depth generates short chop in strong winds.
Very shallow lake — short steep chop in strong winds. Sudden thunderstorms in summer. Fishing and recreational boat traffic. Remote location (3h from Toronto). Cold water in spring and fall.
