River riding with moderate current. Flat water to light chop depending on wind strength. The wide river provides a good riding area. Fresh water at pleasant summer temperatures (18-22°C/64-72°F), cooler in spring and fall. Sandy to rocky bottom in places.

Hazards

River current can be strong in spring during snowmelt. Barge and boat traffic on the Columbia River — stay vigilant. Remote spot with few nearby services. Thermal wind can increase rapidly in the afternoon. Cold water in spring requires an appropriate wetsuit.
