The Kite Ranch is a launch site and community gathering spot on the west shore of Keho Lake, Alberta's most famous kitesurfing spot. This "kite ranch" is the social heart of the southern Alberta kite community.
Located on the west shore, the Kite Ranch offers direct lake access with the dominant Chinook winds. The site serves as a base for sessions, events, and community gatherings. Keho Lake at 963 m altitude benefits from Rocky Mountain foehn winds among the most consistent in Canada. Season from May to October.

Shallow irrigation reservoir. Warm fresh water (18-22°C). Muddy bottom. West shore with short fetch — ideal flat surface. Chinook wind arrives as offshore from this shore. Spacious sailing area toward the center and east of the lake. Variable water level depending on irrigation.
Offshore wind on this shore — experience required. Powerful Chinook winds (30-45+ knots). Buddy sailing recommended. Shallow bottom everywhere. Prairie thunderstorms with frequent lightning. Variable water level depending on season.
