Port Hope West Beach sits west of Port Hope's harbour, a charming historic town on Lake Ontario's north shore. The sandy beach faces south with good fetch. Port Hope's lighthouse and bluffs frame the landscape.
Parking near the beach. Easy sand launch. The spot is separated from Port Hope East Beach by the Ganaraska River and the harbour.
Lake water facing south. Freshwater, moderate chop. Sandy bottom, gradual depth. Good riding space in front of the beach. Water slightly cleaner than in the Toronto area.
