Oak Island / The Point is located at the eastern end of Oak Island, a barrier island on North Carolina's southern coast. "The Point" refers to the tip where the ocean beach meets the Cape Fear River mouth and Lockwood Folly Inlet. This spot offers unique conditions with dynamic sandbars and tidal currents. Oak Island is a family beach community with the Oak Island Lighthouse as a landmark. It's the southernmost kite spot in North Carolina, near the South Carolina border.
