St. Ambroise Beach is a provincial park located on the south shore of Lake Manitoba, at the lake's southeastern end. This spot benefits from impressive northerly fetch of over 200 km for the prevailing north and northwest winds. The provincial park offers facilities (parking, restrooms, camping) and a long sandy beach. Lake Manitoba being very shallow, chop builds quickly even in moderate wind, offering fun conditions for freestyle.

Very shallow lake (average depth 7 m) with exceptional northerly fetch over 200 km. Short, steep chop even in moderate wind. Short but frequent waves. Sandy bottom near shore, muddy further out. Freshwater warming relatively quickly in summer due to shallow depth.
Violent prairie thunderstorms can arrive very quickly. Lake Manitoba can go from calm to dangerous in 30 minutes. Cold water in spring and fall. Muddy bottom offshore. Abundant mosquitoes on beach in summer. Check provincial park advisories before riding.
