Higgins Beach is a renowned surf and kitesurf spot in Scarborough, near Portland. This east-facing beach is known for its good waves and authentic coastal village atmosphere. It's one of Maine's oldest and most popular surf spots.
Ocean conditions with good regular swell. Sandy bottom with some rocks. Cold water year-round — full wetsuit essential (5/4mm in winter, 4/3mm in summer). Significant tide. Quality waves for surfing and kitesurfing.
