Kinosoo Beach is the main beach at Cold Lake, a large deep lake (373 km²) in northeastern Alberta, on the Saskatchewan border. The lake is at 534 m altitude. Kinosoo Beach is a municipal park with sandy beach, playground, and parking.
Cold Lake is Alberta's seventh-largest lake. Its name comes from its temperature — water stays cool even in summer due to its great depth (max 99 m). The vast water body offers considerable fetch. Northwest and southeast winds are most productive. Season from June to September.

Cold water (Cold Lake lives up to its name). Large lake — rapidly changing conditions. Canadian Forces military base nearby — respect restricted zones. Violent summer thunderstorms. Motorboats. Abundant mosquitoes early in season.
