Steep Rock Quarry is a flooded former limestone quarry near the village of Steep Rock, on the west shore of Lake Manitoba. This abandoned quarry offers a protected water body with crystal clear turquoise waters, creating a unique micro-spot. Although small, the water body allows kitesurfing sessions in a spectacular setting, surrounded by white limestone walls. Interesting alternative when Lake Manitoba is too rough.
Flooded quarry water body. Crystal clear turquoise waters. Limited surface but sufficient for short sessions. Variable bottom — former quarry floor. Very calm, flat water protected from waves by quarry walls. Variable and potentially significant depth.
