Prairie Grove Park is another access point to the Red River Floodway in southeast suburban Winnipeg. The park provides access to the Floodway's vast flood plains, which become a kitesurfing playground when conditions allow. Its proximity to Winnipeg makes it one of the most accessible spots in the province for a quick after-work session.
Floodway flood plains. Very shallow, flat water when present. Flat muddy bottom. Ideal learning conditions thanks to urban proximity and shallow water. Regular, unobstructed wind thanks to flat prairie terrain.
