West Shoal Lake is a spot located on Shoal Lake, a lake connected to Lake Manitoba in the Interlake region of Manitoba. This prairie water body offers ideal kitesurfing conditions with its shallow waters and exposure to prairie winds. Shoal Lake is known for its flat bottom and accessible conditions. The Interlake region, between Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba, benefits from consistent winds channeled between the two large lakes.
Shallow prairie lake. Flat to slightly choppy water depending on wind. Flat sandy/muddy bottom. Shallow depth allowing standing far from shore — excellent for learning. Limited chop even in strong wind due to shallow depth.
