Lake Lowell West Dam is a kitesurf spot on Lake Lowell, an irrigation reservoir near Nampa in the Treasure Valley. This 39 km² lake offers good fetch and consistent afternoon thermal winds. West Dam provides good water access. Part of the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge — some areas are closed to water activities for wildlife protection. Season from May to October.

Freshwater with variable visibility. Water temperature from 5°C in spring to 24°C in summer. Large lake with good fetch. Muddy to sandy bottom. Variable lake level depending on irrigation. Full 4/3 wetsuit in spring/fall, shorty in summer.
Closed Wildlife Refuge zones must be strictly respected — severe fines. Motorboat traffic in summer. Thunderstorms with lightning possible. Snakes in grassy areas. Variable lake level — shallows possible.
