Glen Haven is a kitesurf spot located within Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, on Lake Michigan, Michigan. This historic village preserved by the National Park Service offers access to Sleeping Bear Bay, with massive dunes as backdrop. The bay provides partial protection depending on wind direction, while the open lake presents waves in west winds. Spectacular natural setting with Manitou Islands visible offshore.

Very cold water — full wetsuit required except in midsummer. Crystal-clear sandy bottom. Spectacular dune landscape visible from the water. Variable conditions depending on wind direction and position in the bay.
Currents possible in the bay in strong winds. Very cold Lake Michigan water with hypothermia risk. National Lakeshore area — respect national park regulations. Massive dunes can create turbulence and venturi effects. Violent thunderstorms possible in summer. Relatively remote area with limited rescue services. Submerged rocks possible in some bay areas.
