Au Gres is a kitesurf spot located on the western shore of Saginaw Bay, in northeastern Lower Michigan. This small coastal town offers access to the shallow waters of Saginaw Bay, one of the largest freshwater bays in the world. The bay provides more sheltered conditions than open Lake Huron. The area is known for fishing and water sports. Good spot for intermediate riders seeking flat water.

Cold water requiring full wetsuit except in midsummer. Sandy and muddy bottom. The bay warms faster than the open lake in summer due to its shallow depth.
Shallow bay that can become very rough quickly in northeast winds. Cold water with hypothermia risk. Shoals and shallow areas that can surprise riders. Fishing and recreational boat traffic. Violent thunderstorms possible in summer with lightning risk — exit water immediately. Occasional fog on the bay.
