Au Sable Point is a kitesurf spot located on the western shore of Lake Huron, in northeastern Lower Michigan, near Oscoda and Tawas. This point jutting into Lake Huron offers good exposure to east and northeast winds. The area is near the Au Sable River mouth and the Huron National Forest. Sandy beach with interesting wave conditions in east winds.

Lake Huron water body with east exposure. East to northeast winds create waves of 1 to 2 meters. Cold water — full wetsuit required except in midsummer. Sandy bottom. Longshore currents possible along the coast in strong winds. The point position offers better wind exposure than surrounding straight beaches.

Violent thunderstorms possible in summer with lightning risk — exit water immediately. Relatively remote area — bring safety equipment.
