Veterans Memorial Park is a kitesurfing spot located on Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys, right next to the iconic Seven Mile Bridge. This small park offers bay side (Gulf) access with shallow waters and a unique setting at the foot of the longest bridge in the Keys. The easterly trade winds blow side-shore across the bay's flat water. The position between the Middle and Lower Keys offers an excellent compromise between accessibility and tranquility. The currents between the bridge pilings add an interesting technical element for experienced riders.
The bay side water body is shallow with a sandy and seagrass bottom. In trade winds, conditions are flat to lightly choppy. Depth varies with the tide — at low tide, vast white sand areas emerge, creating a spectacular landscape. Tidal currents are more pronounced here due to the proximity of the passes under the Seven Mile Bridge. The water is warm and clear year-round.

Open all year round
Tidal currents are significant near the Seven Mile Bridge — the passes under the bridge create current accelerations that can be dangerous. Do not ride too close to the bridge pilings. Watch for stingrays in seagrass. The launch area is limited — respect other park users. Limited parking.
