Muskegon State Park is a kitesurf spot located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, in Muskegon State Park, Michigan. This park offers direct access to Lake Michigan with a wide sandy beach and west exposure. The park is situated between Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake, offering two different water bodies. West and northwest winds generate regular waves on Lake Michigan. One of the best spots on the Muskegon coast.

Lake Michigan water body with full west exposure. West to northwest winds generate waves of 1 to 2 meters, sometimes more in storms. Cold water — full wetsuit required except in midsummer (July-August). Sandy bottom with gradual slope. Longshore currents possible in strong winds. The park also offers access to Muskegon Lake for calmer conditions.
Longshore and rip currents possible in strong west winds. Cold Lake Michigan water with hypothermia risk. Busy beach in summer — watch for swimmers. Violent thunderstorms possible with lightning risk — exit water immediately. Commercial shipping offshore on Lake Michigan. State park — respect regulations and marked areas.
