Moyie Lake is a mountain lake in the East Kootenays, at 945m elevation, between Cranbrook and the Alberta border. The N-S oriented lake is framed by the Rockies and Purcell Mountains. Moyie Lake Provincial Park on the east shore with beach and campground. Wind is channelled along the lake axis. Wild alpine scenery with little crowding.

Fresh water. Flat to choppy water. Moderate fetch along the N-S axis. Sand and pebble bottom. Cold water (mountain lake at 945m, 14-19°C in summer). Moderate depth.
Cold water — wetsuit needed. Remote area with distant rescue services. Gusty wind in the mountain corridor. Floating logs possible. Limited cell coverage. Sudden mountain thunderstorms possible in afternoon.
