El Reno is a kitesurf spot on Lake El Reno, a small reservoir west of Oklahoma City. This compact lake offers accessible conditions for learning with Oklahoma's characteristic south winds. Less crowded than OKC spots. El Reno is infamously known for the widest tornado ever recorded (2.6 miles wide in 2013). Season from April to November.
Freshwater with variable visibility. Water temperature from 5°C in winter to 28°C in summer. Small lake with limited fetch. Muddy bottom. Short chop. Shorty in summer, 4/3 wetsuit in spring/fall.
