Kal Beach (Kalamalka Lake) is located in Vernon, in the northern Okanagan Valley. Kalamalka Lake is famous for its exceptional turquoise waters, often compared to the Caribbean. The N-S oriented lake channels thermal winds. Popular beach with an adjacent provincial park. One of the most beautiful lakes in the province.

Fresh water with spectacular turquoise colours. Flat to choppy water. Sand and pebble bottom. The lake is about 2 km wide — moderate fetch. Warm water in summer (18-22°C). The southerly thermal wind develops in the afternoon.
Boat traffic in summer (motorboats, jet-skis). Very busy swimming zone at Kal Beach. Gusty wind possible from valley effects. Wind can drop without warning.
