Overview

Le Pré de Mézenc is the main snowkite spot in the Mézenc massif, located at the foot of Mont Mézenc (1,753 m) at Les Estables (Haute-Loire, 43). Facing South to South-West, it offers rolling freeride terrain ideal for beginners and experienced riders alike. The terrain extends from the Nordic area towards Le Chaulet with nice rollers and natural halfpipes formed by streams. Experts can ride up towards the Mont Mézenc summit. Les Estables is considered one of the best snowkite spots in France, with impressive wind statistics and vast open areas above 1,500 m. Only 3 to 10 cm of snow is enough to ride. Ultra easy access: park, unpack your kite and ride. Les Estables, the highest village in the Massif Central (1,350 m), is 30 min from Le Puy-en-Velay, 1h from Saint-Étienne and 2h from Lyon.

In south wind, the terrain offers long upwind runs with natural rollers. In west wind, the spot extends towards Le Chaulet with beautiful halfpipes formed by streams.
