Shallow freshwater (max depth ~4m). Water temperature from 2°C in winter (frozen) to 24°C in summer. Muddy to sandy bottom. Very large lake with excellent fetch. Short but frequent chop in strong winds due to shallow depth. Full 4/3 wetsuit in spring/fall, shorty in summer.
Very shallow lake: risk of hitting bottom everywhere. Dense algae and aquatic vegetation in summer — check health advisories (cyanobacteria). Mountain thunderstorms with lightning — exit water immediately. Thermal winds can increase rapidly in the afternoon. Boat traffic in summer. Turbid water hiding the bottom.
