Palanga is Lithuania's main seaside resort, located on the Baltic Sea coast. The white sandy beach stretches over 10 km, providing ample space for kitesurfing.

The coast faces west, well exposed to prevailing winds. South-west to north-west winds are most favourable, blowing side-shore to side-onshore. The bottom is sandy and gradual. In summer, the beach can be busy with swimmers.

Palanga has excellent tourist infrastructure. The famous Palanga Pier is a landmark. The kitesurf season runs from May to October, with the best winds in spring and autumn.
