Marielyst is a beach resort on the east coast of Falster, with about 20 km of sandy beach facing the Baltic Sea. Spot suitable for all levels, ideal for learning with its shallow water and sandy bottom. Works in easterly winds (NE to S). Lake-like to small chop conditions.

Flat water to small chop. In sustained easterly winds, small to medium waves between sandbanks. Sandy bottom. No tidal influence (Baltic). Temperature: 18-23°C in summer, 8-13°C in spring. Wetsuit always required.
Very popular tourist beach — many swimmers and holidaymakers in summer (June-August), caution essential. Easterly wind less frequent than prevailing westerlies — spot not always active.
