Skiveren is a spot on the north coast of Jutland, between Hirtshals and Skagen. Sandy beach facing northwest/north, in a natural setting. The SW-NE oriented coastline faces the Skagerrak. SURF magazine recommends this spot in southwest wind, when conditions at Kjul or Tversted become too gusty. Limited shore break and moderate waves.
Open all year round
Intermediate
Moderate Skagerrak waves over sandy bottom. Limited shore break compared to west coast spots. Milder conditions than neighbors Kjul and Tversted. Cold water — full wetsuit mandatory. Ideal for intermediate wave riding.
Strong Skagerrak currents, becoming increasingly dangerous toward the north (Skagen direction). Cape Hirtshals creates complex currents. Remote beach with limited rescue infrastructure. Cold water requiring a full wetsuit year-round.
