Tranum is a spot on the northwest coast of Jutland, in Jammer Bay (Jammerbugten). The bay forms a concave arc from Hanstholm to Hirtshals, with the coast at Tranum facing west/northwest. Sandy beach with moderate North Sea wave conditions, less crowded than neighboring Blokhus and Løkken spots. Intermediate spot suitable for wave riding.
Moderate North Sea waves over sandy bottom. Jammer Bay provides some shelter compared to the open west coast. Shore break present but less violent than further south. Longshore currents. Cold water — full wetsuit mandatory.
