Los Pocillos is a tourist beach in Puerto del Carmen, south of Matagorda, on the east coast of Lanzarote. Although wind conditions (NE trade winds) can occasionally be favourable, all traction and sail-powered water sports are officially banned by local authorities.
Kitesurfers and wingfoilers should head to other spots on the island such as Famara (northwest coast), Costa Teguise or Las Cucharas, where practice is allowed and conditions are much more suitable.
Flat water freeride. Large beach. Beginner-friendly on calm days.
Closed year-round to water sports.
Flat to small chop. Sandy bottom. Water 18–22°C. Shorty or 3/2mm.
Puerto del Carmen tourist area. Easy access, all amenities.
NE trade wind, generally lighter than Famara or Costa Teguise. 10–20 knots on good days.
