Matagorda is a beach just north of Puerto del Carmen on the southeast coast of Lanzarote. It's known as a drop-off spot that can offer good conditions with strong NW wind and powerful swell. Also works with east wind reinforced by thermal effects.
Generally flat water with light wind, Matagorda comes alive on strong trade wind days with big offshore waves for experienced riders. Large uncrowded beach.
