Since its early days, Let's Kite has been built around European spots. Today marks a turning point: for the first time, the platform expands beyond the northern hemisphere. Australian and New Zealand riders can now check real-time conditions — directly on the map, in alerts, and in their dashboard — just like their European counterparts.

This is no token integration. With 418 Australian stations and 38 New Zealand stations, this update represents the largest geographical expansion in the project's history.

This data powers exactly the same features as European stations: real-time map, personalised wind alerts, and tracking dashboard. No second-tier interface, no different treatment — Australian and New Zealand riders access the same tool.

What this changes in practice

For the curious — The integration relies on the public APIs of BOM and MetService, normalised through the same processing pipeline as the 10,000+ stations already on the platform. Each station returns the same fields: average wind, gusts, direction, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure.
